The member community

Dashboard (opens in a new tab) is the member wall: a shared feed for NIWE holding posts from members alongside updates from the organization itself. It is the first thing you see when you sign in.

The wall is internal. Only signed-in members of NIWE can see it, and nothing on it appears on the public website.

Write a post from the top of the wall, with images if you want them. Other members can like and comment, and you can do the same on theirs.

Celebrations (opens in a new tab) shows members with birthdays around now, so the community can mark them. Whether you appear is up to you: the visibility control is on Settings → Profile, next to your date of birth.

On your own birthday you may see a short greeting when you sign in. It appears once. NIWE also sends you a birthday card by email on the morning itself, and the celebrations page offers you a copy to download and keep.

You can adjust how your photo appears on the card without changing your profile photo. Drag or zoom the birthday photo preview, check the full card beside it, and save the framing you want. The same saved framing is used for future downloads. Birthday emails show your original profile photo at its natural proportions. Reset returns the card to the centered default, and replacing or removing your profile photo clears the saved birthday framing.

The same setting governs both: keep your date of birth private and you will not appear here, and no card is sent. You can also keep the listing and turn just the email off, under Settings → Notifications.

Alongside member posts, the wall carries entries generated by the platform: new events, new training courses, new publications, new members joining. These keep the feed useful even when the community is quiet.

Updates (opens in a new tab) shows the same organization-generated entries on their own, without member posts, if you want to catch up without scrolling the wall.
